Overview

Animal Care Attendants handle the overall care and cleaning of all animal housing at the shelter, including kennels, cat rooms, the puppy room and daily dog playgroups. Duties include rinsing, scrubbing and disinfecting housing, feeding and watering, basic oral medications, laundry, dishes and routine upkeep, plus helping the public visit with animals and answering adoption questions. The position is part time with day shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 6pm, most commonly 8 hours with a 30 minute lunch break.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent required
• Previous animal care experience preferred but not required
• Customer service experience preferred but not required
• Day shift availability required
• Ability to commute to Charleston, WV 25311
• Able to stand, bend, stoop and kneel constantly
