Overview

The Peer Support Professional engages individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, providing de-escalation, peer support, and connection to critical services. Work happens at the stabilization unit and in the community where a crisis is occurring. The position requires lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorders and one year of recovery, plus Peer Support Certification or willingness to obtain it. Requirements

• Lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorders with one year of recovery complete
• Peer Support Certification, or willingness and ability to obtain
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and full insurance coverage
• Ability and willingness to work weekends as required
• Ability to maintain a stationary position, traverse indoor and outdoor spaces, and observe signs of distress
