Overview

Lorain County Safe Harbor provides emergency shelter and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence throughout Lorain County. In this role, the advocate conducts client intakes, provides crisis coaching, makes service referrals, and assists with shelter operations and transportation. Shift options include overnight full-time hours, alternate weekend part-time schedules, and PRN shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or equivalent life experience in human services
• Valid Ohio driver license and insured, reliable transportation
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and simple databases
