Overview

Cattail Contracting LLC is hiring an experienced Drill Operator to run a Ditch Witch AT32 or similar horizontal directional drilling machine on active construction sites. The role covers directional drilling for underground utility installation plus assistance with excavation, trenching, and other heavy equipment work. This is not an entry-level position; candidates without prior directional drilling experience will not be considered.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience operating horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment
• Hands-on experience with a Ditch Witch AT32 or comparable directional drill
• Experience with underground utility installation and identifying underground utilities
• Experience operating excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks
• Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and routine maintenance
• Valid CDL preferred or required depending on project needs
