Overview
The Estimator fields incoming customer requests for quotes on custom metal projects, large and small. Duties include reviewing drawings and specifications, determining materials, labor and outside services, reading blueprints and CAD drawings, preparing estimates and quotations, and communicating with customers and shop personnel. The role is in person in Roanoke, VA, with relocation required before starting.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience estimating custom fabrication projects strongly preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, fabrication drawings and specifications
- Understanding of common metal fabrication processes, materials and shop practices
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn estimating or ERP software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
