Overview
Tehama County Public Works is hiring a Fleet Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair County road maintenance vehicles, heavy diesel trucks, and specialized equipment. Mechanics work in a large county shop under the supervision of Fleet Operations Managers. Level II candidates must obtain a Class A license within six months, while Level III requires a current Class A license.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 3 years of automotive and heavy equipment repair experience
- Valid California driver license and clean 30-day DMV record
- California Class A license or ability to obtain one within 6 months
- Must provide own set of basic mechanic tools
- Ability to obtain airbrake, tanker, and doubles/triples endorsements
