Overview
This role supports maximum plant reliability by performing proactive maintenance, troubleshooting failures, and conducting root cause analysis on mechanical, electrical, robotic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems. The technician also performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, documents activity in a CMMS, and works with operations staff to resolve equipment issues. Sonoco is a global packaging company.
Requirements
- High school diploma, preferably with a vocational focus
- Demonstrated multi-craft maintenance competency; level set by plant based on skills and experience
- Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC program logic
- Electrical work experience in compliance with NFPA 70E
- Welding and machining/fabrication skills as determined by location
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a CMMS
