Overview
Teach hands-on aseptic technique, surgical procedures, and patient care, plus classroom instruction in anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, and microbiology. Prior teaching experience is not required; the school will train to teach. Duties include maintaining student records, holding office hours, and preparing students for national registry exams.
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST), graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technologist program, or eligible to sit for the CST exam
- Minimum of 3 years of recent work experience in the scrub role
- Strong customer service skills with attention to detail
- Prior teaching experience not required; will train to teach
- Preference given to applicants with a Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of ST experience and 15 credits in general education
