Overview

The Line Clearance Tree Trimmer Apprentice assists with clearing and trimming trees and vegetation around electrical power lines while learning safe equipment operation, climbing and rigging techniques, and industry safety standards. The role progresses through three apprenticeship levels with increasing responsibility, certifications, and training. It reports to the Line Clearance Tree Trimmer Foreman and supports reliable operation of the electrical distribution system.

Requirements

• Must live within forty-five driving minutes of the cooperative headquarters
• Must have or obtain an Oklahoma Class A driver's license with Tanker endorsement within six months
• Must be certified in First Aid, CPR and AED or become certified within one year
• Basic knowledge of right-of-way work, equipment and tool handling, and chainsaw knowledge and repair
• High school diploma or proof of equivalency preferred
• Willing to be on-call in inclement weather and during emergency conditions
