Overview

The mechanic repairs and maintains all highway district vehicles and equipment, schedules preventive maintenance and repairs, orders parts and supplies, and keeps shops clean and safe. The role involves coordination with directors and foremen, record keeping, and emergency repairs. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 1+ years in road maintenance or construction preferred. A valid driver's license is required and a CDL is a plus.
