Overview

The Technical Director owns the technical side of live events, including audio, video, lighting, staging, scenic, and rigging. The role leads crews, vendors, and the shop, manages technical budgets, and runs load-in, show, and strike on site. It works directly with owners and producers to deliver safe, on-budget shows.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Technical Director, Production Manager, or lead technician in live events
• Strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, staging, and rigging systems
• Ability to read and create technical drawings; experience with Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or similar
• Experience managing crews and vendors and keeping shows on budget
• Comfortable with long, physical show days and irregular hours
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including frequent trips to New York
