Overview

The role involves designing prototype and low-volume stamping dies, check fixtures, welding fixtures, and assembly fixtures. The designer will work from customer CAD data and drawings, create 3D models and 2D detail drawings, and support tool build, tryout, and debug. The position requires at least 5 years of tool design experience and strong knowledge of sheet metal forming and GD&T. The employer says people with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of tool design experience
• Prototype or job-shop tooling experience
• Strong background in prototype and low-to-medium volume sheet metal stamping
• Ability to design using NX11, Fusion 360, KeyCreator, or other professional 3D CAD software
• Ability to interpret complex part drawings, 3D CAD data, GD&T, and engineering changes
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
