Overview

The Utility Worker performs unskilled labor in the installation and construction of water and sewer lines and appurtenances as part of a pipe laying crew. Responsibilities include assisting with line repairs, making bores, operating equipment, backfilling ditches, and traffic control. Work is conducted in the field under regular supervision in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Some experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of water and sewer lines
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) according to State of residence
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to operate common hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to bend, stand, climb ladders, crawl, and drive a vehicle daily
