Overview
The Town of Smithfield, VA seeks a Utilities Mechanic to maintain and repair water and sewer systems, buildings, grounds, and streets. Duties include responding to lift station and well malfunctions, reading meters, marking utility lines, and snow removal. The role requires on-call rotation including weekends and a valid driver's license with CDL obtainable within one year.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of related maintenance and repair experience
- Valid driver's license
- Valid CDL or willing to obtain within one year
- Pesticide Spraying Certification or obtain within six months
- V-DOT Flagging Certification or obtain within six months
- Must complete physical, background check, and drug screening
